Orion Star Project Pack  

This Queen sized quilt (80" x 96") is made with
one simple block.  This striking quilt is very fun
to sew.  The end result looks very much like the
classic Hunter's Star block.  That block is made
with a diamond piece, which involves difficult Y
seams.  In this quilt, the base block is made with
Thangles.  All the piecing is very easy.  The stars
form when you put the blocks together!

The pattern has directions for making the blocks
from 28 colors, 15 colors or 9 colors.  The quilt in
the picture is made with 28 hand dyed colors

Orion Star 15 Fabrics Variation by Lois F.

Here is an Orion Star by Lois F.  She used one
background fabric which is a multicolored
batik (for the light) and 14 coordinating batik
Fat Quarters for the darks.  Lois enlarged her
quilt with an additional border.
